Next meeting:
Saturday, November 12, 2022; 10:00 a.m.
Saint Matthew Lutheran Church, Waco, Texas

The November program will be all about Gothicized Italic, presented by long time WCG member and 3-time past president Jane Stanfield. Gothicized Italic has similarities to both broad edge styles of Blackletter and Italic, but it is more readable than Blackletter and more pointed, livelier, and more expressive than Italic.  Whether you are a Blackletter or Italic aficionado, you will love adding this hand to your repertoire.

For this hands-on session you will need to bring a pen and ink. The easiest choice is a 3.8 mm (green cap) Pilot Parallel fountain Pen with a black ink cartridge. If you do not have one, they can be purchased from MC Arts on Washington Avenue in Waco.  Link to MC Art Supplies online:  https://mcartsupplies.com/collections/pens-markers/products/pilot-parallel-pen?_pos=1&_sid=4f4951f43&_ss=r  The 3.8 mm Parallel pen will be a great addition to your pen collection.

Supplies:

Parallel Pen 3.8 with black cartridge
Rag or paper towel, small water container
Or
Ink – black; Masking tape to secure your ink to the table
Nib -- Tape/Brause 4, Speedball C-1, Mitchell 0 (a black 3.5 mm chisel marker will work, but the ink experience is what we are all about) or whatever other ink nib you love that is 5 pen widths high equaling 3/4", which is the size of the grip paper will will be using.
Rag or paper towel, small water container

Note: Jane will supply all the grid papers and handouts.
