Next meeting (different location!):

Saturday, October 8, 2022;   10:00 a.m. - noon
Baylor University Campus, Waco, Texas

Meander Book

Get ready for a fast, fun, and simple bookbinding workshop! Member Virginia Green, associate professor of art and graphic design at Baylor, will teach us the Meander book, which is basically an accordion book created out of one sheet of paper. We will make one with separate covers made from paste paper and other art papers. The inside pages are letterpress printed and are waiting to be adorned with color and letters! We will also discuss optional ways to use this versatile binding.

Tools to Bring (we will also have these on hand):
Bone folder
Colored pencils
Pens (must have colored ink)
X-Acto or Ulfa knife
Cutting mat
12-inch ruler (for measuring and cutting)

Directions to the Dept of Art & Art History in the Hooper-Shaefer Fine Arts Center: From I-35 to Exit 335-B to South University Parks Drive. Drive east going past Dutton Street to the main entrance of Baylor University. Turn right at the large Baylor University sign with 3 flag poles and drive to the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center, the large building on the left. Visitor parking is available in the right-side parking lot. Or search your map app for “fine arts baylor” and select directions from your location. Enter the building at the side entrance by the yellow sculpture, “Lewis Art Building.” Go left through the doors and the room is at the top of the ramp. For assistance, call 254-366-2085.
